I recently went to Florida, and as fancy as it sounds, it wasn’t for Disney or any business purpose - it was for a life-changing 40-hour meditation retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza. A scientist and best-selling author, Dr. Joe explores neuroscience, quantum physics, epigenetics, and human transformation. Over seven days, I immersed myself in deep meditation, the power of synchronicity, and the unknown.
My friends and family found this decision amusing, but as an entrepreneur, aren’t we known to take bold steps? Everyone wondered why travel from India, the land of Yogis, to meditate in a hotel with 1,500 others? But as a passionate student of neuroplasticity and quantum physics, I knew this was my calling. Dr. Joe often says, “The body doesn’t know the difference between an experience and a thought. You can change your biology, chemistry, hormones, and genes simply through an inner event.” I was determined to experience this transformation firsthand, completing over 20 hours of meditation and 15 hours of theory before attending.
This experience left me with three profound takeaways:
1. Friendships can form at any stage in life. Despite the belief that making friends as an adult is difficult, I found the opposite to be true. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people fosters deep, effortless connections. On the first day, I connected instantly with a few attendees. By the end of the retreat, our group had grown to seven, spanning different countries and backgrounds. We have stayed in touch, meeting in person and planning a future reunion. Genuine friendships don’t need decades—they need shared purpose and openness.
2. Meditation unlocks the universe. Dr. Joe’s meditations push you beyond the body and mind. Sitting still, the body resists—aching, itching, demanding food or movement. But, as he teaches, the body is like an untrained animal; it must learn to let go. Overcoming physical and mental distractions leads to a state where time, space, and identity dissolve—just pure existence.
And this approach isn’t mystical... it’s backed by science. He explains how meditation shifts brainwaves from stress-driven beta states to the calm, creative alpha and deeply transformative theta states. During the retreat, I reached a state beyond even theta—an electric sensation coursed through my brain, wave after wave, until my entire head felt charged. It was powerful, and since then, I can tap into that state with ease, feeling an unshakeable connection to something greater.
This isn’t about religion; it’s about experience. Whether you call it the universe, source, or consciousness, it transcends beliefs.
3. Synchronicity is the universe speaking to us. Dr. Joe emphasised that synchronicities are signs from the universe. The meditation was immersive -- sitting, lying down, even walking. One morning session started at 4:30 AM, and when I opened my eyes, five hours had passed in what felt like minutes.
The key is intention. Meditation isn’t just about asking for something—it’s about feeling it. If I want success, is it about freedom, joy, or impact? Focusing on that feeling invites the universe to respond. Set clear goals but leave space for magic. When we do, synchronicities unfold in extraordinary ways.
One of the retreat’s most profound experiences was coherence healing. Together, we raised our collective energy to help others. As we meditated, the energy in the room intensified. Rubbing our hands together, we felt undeniable warmth and charge. Holding them out toward those seeking healing, it was as if pure, positive energy flowed through us.
Did healing occur? Some experienced immediate changes, while others may see gradual transformation. What I do know is this: something shifted. When we raise our collective vibration, powerful things happen.
For me, a lifelong condition—eczema, that I believed was genetic—vanished. Just like that! Healing is real. It exists within us, and when we tap into it together, miracles unfold.
This retreat wasn’t just an event; it was an awakening. Meditation isn’t an escape—it’s the doorway to our highest potential. If you open yourself to the unknown, the universe will meet you there.
