Tipsy Tiger may have entered the market as a cocktail mixer brand, but its ambition was always bigger. The young beverage company is now expanding its presence across everyday soft drinks, guided by a simple proposition of creating familiar beverages with a more distinctive, flavour-forward approach.
The brand’s product development begins with identifying consumer and category trends, followed by extensive experimentation with ingredients and flavour combinations. Its Picante, for instance, took eight to nine months to develop. “Taste is a huge part of what drives us as entrepreneurs and what drives our business,” says founder Abhishek Chopra. The brand uses juice concentrates and purées, avoids artificial flavours and colours in its effort to deliver a cleaner, more differentiated drinking experience.
While mixers remain an important part of the portfolio, Tipsy Tiger has increasingly moved into soft beverages, including Fresh Lime Soda, Ginger Ale and zero-added-sugar drinks. The objective is not to create an entirely new category but to upgrade existing favourites. “We cannot be a me-too brand,” the founder says, explaining that the brand wants to offer familiar drinks with their own flavour profiles and formulations.

Its marketing strategy is equally focused. Rather than attempting to build presence everywhere at once, the Jalandhar-based brand is concentrating on specific markets through events, pop-ups and product trials before gradually expanding its footprint. Quick commerce has helped make the products accessible across markets, but the brand sees it primarily as a distribution channel rather than a substitute for building consumer pull.
As Tipsy Tiger looks to scale, its brand identity is also becoming an important part of the proposition. That is where its tiger mascot enters the picture. Created with Thought Over Design, the character was conceived not as a larger-than-life hero, but as a relatable companion. “We don’t need a hero,” says the founder. “We’re not going to help you solve your problems. We’re just going to help you get through the day.”
For a brand operating in an increasingly crowded beverage market, that combination of taste, personality and relatability could become its sharpest differentiator.
