Pidilite Industries, through its leading adhesive brand Fevicol, joined forces with India's renowned couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla to host the 16th edition of the star-studded ‘Caring with Style’ fashion show at the spectacular Jio World Garden. The charity event, which has been running for over a decade, continued its partnership with the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) to raise funds and awareness for underprivileged cancer patients.
In 2012, CPAA played a significant role in raising funds through the fourth edition of the event to support the treatment of Mohit Gupta, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of five. Now 18 years old, Mohit serves as a powerful example of the impact the funds raised at the show have made in improving the lives of those battling cancer.
Saudamini Mattu, CEO of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, expressed, "We believe in contributing as much as we believe in creating. Cancer is a cause that remains relevant and we are grateful that with each passing year, our capacity to raise awareness has magnified. Nothing makes us happier than creating what we love and doing it with absolute heart!"
The runway showcased collections by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, blending heritage and contemporary design. For women, their collections featured intricate Chikankari, Mughal-inspired embroidery, and bold mirror work, with floral motifs and vibrant hues adorning the runway. For men, the designs included classic mirror and Resham embroidery, with modern silhouettes and rich detailing in deep and pastel tones.
Celebrity guests added to the glamour, with Bhumi Pednekar serving as the showstopper for the designers. She remarked, “I made my ramp walk debut with Abu Sandeep, and as I celebrate 10 years in cinema, it feels special to return to their runway. It’s been an incredible journey, and walking for them again—this time for such a meaningful cause—is truly an honour. They are masters of their craft and even more incredible as human beings.”
Babil Khan opened the menswear segment in a red silk Angarkha adorned with Bahiya embroidery, while Mini Mathur hosted the evening. The event also featured powerful performances by Hargun Kaur and Ila Arun. Several industry figures and business leaders attended to show their support for the noble cause.
The night concluded with the recognition of architects in collaboration with Ikea, with all proceeds from architecture sales donated to CPAA. Leading architect Sanjay Puri presented a cheque to CPAA for the funds raised. This “Glamour with a Purpose” initiative helped fund the treatment of children battling leukaemia. With these funds, CPAA has already supported over 300 children, 80% of whom are now nearing full recovery and on maintenance treatment.
Mr. Y K Sapru, Founder Chairman of CPAA, commented, “Since 1969, CPAA has touched the lives of over 1 million cancer patients. Our organisation goes beyond medical treatment, addressing the economic, social, and psychological burdens of the disease through our ‘Total Management of Cancer’ approach. With five decades of experience, CPAA now mentors other healthcare organisations across India.”
