Adani Navbharat Developers Private Limited (ANDPL), the special purpose vehicle leading the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), has launched 'Dharavi Didi', an AI-powered platform designed to provide residents with verified information about the redevelopment project.
The conversational AI companion enables residents to access information on surveys, eligibility, documentation, rehabilitation processes and project updates through video calls, voice calls and WhatsApp. The service is currently available in Hindi, Marathi and English, with support for Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati planned in future phases.
Developed in partnership with YAAP Digital, with Weya AI as the technology partner, the platform combines multilingual conversations, voice-enabled accessibility and conversational AI to deliver official project information to Dharavi residents.
Commenting on the launch, Ajay Kakar, Head – Corporate Branding, Adani Group, said, “In an age of information overload and misinformation, particularly on matters as personal and important as one's home and future, trusted communication is more critical than ever. Dharavi Didi demonstrates how technology can be deployed not merely as an information tool, but as a bridge between institutions and communities. By combining AI with empathy and accessibility, we are creating a communication platform that empowers Dharavikars with verified information while making engagement more inclusive, responsive and human-centric. At its core, branding is about building trust, and trust is built through transparency, consistency and meaningful engagement - the fundamentals that have shaped Dharavi Didi.”
An ANDPL spokesperson said, “Dharavi Didi reflects our commitment to ensuring that every Dharavikar has easy access to verified information directly from official sources. Our teams engage extensively with residents on the ground every day and Dharavi Didi extends that support beyond physical interactions. Whether someone has a question late at night or needs information in their preferred language, trusted answers are now available in an instant.”
According to the company, the platform is designed to support nearly one million Dharavi residents and will continue to add new capabilities, information services and language options as the redevelopment project progresses.
