Digital travel platform Agoda has introduced an AI-powered Vacation Planner aimed at Indian travellers, featuring Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana. The campaign, available for a limited time on AgodaVacationPlanner.com, has been developed in partnership with Google and uses its AI technologies to offer personalised travel planning.
The initiative, which runs until 30 June, features Khurrana in his role as Agoda’s brand ambassador and newly introduced “Chief Wellness Officer,” Mr. Vacaywala. In the campaign videos, Khurrana presents budget-conscious and personalised travel itineraries, addressing users by their first names.
Ayushmann Khurrana said, “Travel is all about discovery and inspiration. Agoda’s use of AI to create personalised recommendations and stunning visuals makes it easier for people to dream, plan, and book their next adventure. And the best part is that we take away the stress of putting together an itinerary, because we do it for you! It’s amazing to see AI bring such creativity to life and I’m proud to be part of this innovation.”
The planner uses Google’s Gemini and Imagen AI technologies along with Agoda’s inventory of holiday properties, flight routes, and travel experiences. According to the company, this enables users to generate tailored itineraries in seconds, without manually navigating the platform’s listings.
Gaurav Malik, Country Director India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal at Agoda, said, “Imagine travel planning that's as exciting and smooth as the journey itself. That's what we've achieved by blending Google's advanced AI models with Ayushmann Khurrana's dynamic Mr. Vacaywala. On the campaign website AgodaTravelPlanner.com, we've redefined the travel planning experience to be both personal and inspiring, and we're absolutely thrilled to make this available to Indian travellers this month!”
The AI planner uses Gemini’s natural language processing to interpret user preferences and combines this with Agoda’s travel database to produce itineraries that include destinations, restaurants, accommodation, transport, and other activities. Imagen is used to create a visual presentation of the itinerary, while the character Mr. Vacaywala provides a narrated summary using text-to-speech AI.
Pulkit Lambah, Industry Head for Travel, Google Asia Pacific, said, “At Google, we believe in empowering visionaries to transform industries. Our collaboration with Agoda is a perfect example, as we collectively embark on a journey to truly reimagine travel – moving beyond simple bookings to instantly personalised, vividly inspiring journeys for every traveller, powered by advanced AI.”
Agoda has also partnered with creative agency Kulfi Collective and AI studio TrueFan for the campaign, which will be promoted through YouTube and Meta platforms using Google AI-based ad targeting.
The AI Vacation Planner is accessible to Indian users via AgodaVacationPlanner.com until the end of June.
