Ajit Varghese is set to return to Madison World as Partner and CEO, more than two decades after beginning his career at the agency.
Varghese started at Madison in 1999 as Head of Planning for Coca-Cola. In 2000, he was promoted to Head of Business, and in 2004 became Chief Operating Officer of the Madison Infinity division. During his tenure, the division saw growth and added clients including Marico, Cadbury, Tata Tea, Dominos and Axis Bank.
In 2006, Varghese moved to WPP as Managing Director of Maxus India. He later served as CEO of Maxus Asia Pacific in 2014 and then as Global President of Wavemaker in 2017, based in London. At Wavemaker, he oversaw KPI delivery across more than 60 markets and was involved in the rebranding of the agency.
In 2020, he joined ShareChat and Moj as Chief Commercial Officer, working on revenue and the creator ecosystem. He then moved to Disney Star in January 2023 as Head of Network Advertising Sales, and later became Head of Revenue, Entertainment, and International at JioStar, a Reliance-Disney joint venture, in November 2024.
Varghese’s return to Madison reflects the company’s ongoing focus on expanding leadership capacity.
