Anita Kotwani has stepped down from her role as Chief Client Officer, dentsu South Asia. Sources close to the development have confirmed this news to IMPACT.
Kotwani joined dentsu in 2020 as CEO of Carat India, steering the agency through a challenging phase marked by evolving client needs, rapid digital acceleration and increasing competition. In March 2023, she was elevated to CEO, Media South Asia, taking charge of Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, Posterscope and Amplifi. During this tenure, she worked closely with global and regional teams to evolve dentsu’s media proposition into a more integrated, digital-first model.
Her remit expanded further earlier this year when she became Chief Client Officer, focusing on group-wide client partnerships across Creative, Media, CXM, Brand Experience, Retail and Sports-Gaming-Entertainment (SGE). She was also responsible for strengthening integrated solutions and driving growth across priority markets.
Before joining dentsu, Kotwani spent over 15 years at Mindshare India, rising through senior leadership roles and eventually heading national new business. She played a key role in securing major mandates and managing marquee accounts across FMCG, entertainment, BFSI and diversified conglomerates. Prior to Mindshare, she held leadership roles at Initiative (Lintas Media Group), handling significant clients such as Unilever, Videocon and Bombay Dyeing, and contributing to media optimisation tools and research frameworks.
Her early career included time at Dainik Bhaskar Group, where she supported the brand’s launch in new North Indian markets with a focus on sales strategy, data analysis and market expansion.
Repeated attempts to reach Anita Kotwani and Harsha Razdan for comments went unanswered till the time of publication.
