Communications veteran Bhaskar Majumdar passed away on Thursday morning following a prolonged illness.
A senior communication consultant with 25 years of experience in reputation management, Majumdar worked with several prominent Indian and global organisations during his career. He served as General Manager, Corporate Communications at Reliance Industries and as Manager, Corporate Communications at ESPN Star Sports. He also held roles at strategic communication agencies including APCO Worldwide, Genesis PR, Vaishnavi Corporate Communications and Adfactors PR.
Majumdar was associated with the advisory committees of several management forums and served on industry award platforms and juries. His work received recognition across industry forums, including the Davos Digital PR Awards, Campaign Asia Awards, SABRE Asia and eLets India Brand Awards, among others.
He was also named among exchange4media’s Top 100 Influential Game Changers in PR & Corporate Communications for five consecutive years, from 2020 to 2024.
Beyond his corporate roles, Majumdar was actively involved in mentoring young communication professionals. He regularly delivered lectures at institutes including the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), India Today Institute, GGSIP University and the Delhi School of Communication.
