In an unprecedented move in the world of cricket, the Big Cricket League (BCL) has launched a one-of-a-kind awareness campaign across Delhi-NCR. The campaign features human billboards that carry a simple yet intriguing question, “Are you a cricketer?” These billboards, strategically placed across high-traffic locations like Connaught Place, India Gate, and various parts of NCR, also display a QR code that redirects passers-by to a video detailing the Big Cricket League.
The initiative, which drew attention from thousands, not only targeted city hotspots but also reached out to amateur cricketers actively practising at grounds across Delhi-NCR.
Following the success of its inaugural season in December 2024, the Big Cricket League is gearing up for Season 2 trials, set to begin in March, with Delhi as the starting point. The league aims to identify and scout talent from a pool of 100,000 amateur cricketers, offering them a chance to play alongside cricket legends such as Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Yusuf Pathan, all of whom participated in the first season. Season 1 attracted 16 million viewers across Sony Sports Network, Sony Liv, and Fancode.
Annirudh Chauhan, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of BCL, said, “The idea behind this billboard campaign was simple – creating awareness among people about our initiative & upcoming talent hunt. We are embarking on an exciting 6-month journey that will see Big Cricket League hunt for talents in 25 cities across India & scout from a pool of 1 lakh amateur cricketers, who want to see their cricketing dream come true.”
RP Singh, Founder & President of BCL, added, “I can’t wait for the talent hunt phase of Season 2 to begin & the team is overwhelmed with the response from this awareness campaign. People were intrigued, thrilled & excited to know what we are doing & I hope BCL reaches every household in India that loves cricket because it’s a league for the people who love cricket & want to be a part of it.”
