In a historic achievement that redefines the limits of human endurance, Kaamya Karthikeyan, the 17-year-old mountaineer from India, has completed the prestigious Seven Summits Challenge, becoming the youngest female in the world to summit the highest peak on every continent. On 25 December 2024, at 0150 hrs IST, Kaamya successfully reached the summit of Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica, marking the final milestone of her remarkable journey.
Kaamya was supported throughout her expedition by Bisleri Vedica Himalayan Spring Water, whose pure, high-altitude water reflects the spirit of Kaamya’s journey—being #FullOfAltitude. The mountaineer expressed her gratitude, stating, “Summiting Mount Vinson still feels surreal, and I’m beyond grateful to Vedica for supporting me wholeheartedly in reaching this highly challenging and my final milestone of the Seven Summits. With this climb, I’ve become the youngest female mountaineer in the world to achieve the Seven Summits Challenge. I’m excited for what’s next and looking forward to setting new goals for myself. I also hope this fuels young Indians of my generation to dream big and turn their dreams into reality.”
The ascent of Mt. Vinson Massif was an arduous and extreme challenge, involving a long journey to the remote Antarctic wilderness, followed by a demanding climb through treacherous ice fields, deep crevasses, and fierce, unpredictable weather. Temperatures plummeted below -40°C, and winds gusted up to 100 mph, with the climbers facing some of the harshest conditions on Earth.
Speaking about her support of Kaamya’s journey, Jayanti Khan Chauhan, Vice Chairperson of Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., commented, “We are incredibly proud to support Kaamya on her historic journey to conquer the Seven Summits. With her final summit of Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Kaamya has become the youngest girl in the world to scale the highest peak on all seven continents, setting a new standard in mountaineering. It’s been a privilege to fuel her passion and resilience as she continues to redefine the limits of human potential. Kaamya’s journey truly embodies the #FullOfAltitude spirit, and we celebrate her inspiring achievements that motivate the world with her unwavering determination.”
In addition to this extraordinary feat, Kaamya had earlier achieved a significant milestone in May 2024, becoming the youngest Indian and the second youngest female in the world to summit Mt. Everest from the Nepal side. Her accomplishments have garnered widespread recognition, including the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar in 2021, India’s highest honour for young achievers, as well as recognition by the Hon. Prime Minister during his Mann Ki Baat.
Kaamya Karthikeyan’s extraordinary journey has become a beacon of inspiration for young adventurers worldwide, proving that no dream is too big and no summit too high to conquer.
