Broadway India, known for its experiential and tech-enabled retail format that brings digital-first D2C brands into offline spaces, has announced a leadership transition. The company has appointed Sankalp Kathuria as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, while Vivek Biyani will take on the role of Investor and Chairman of the Board.
As CEO, Kathuria is expected to lead the company’s next phase of growth and innovation. Broadway said it aims to expand its presence with new outlets while continuing to strengthen its position in the evolving offline retail sector.
“Sankalp is a builder at heart and from our first conversations, our energies aligned,” said Vivek Biyani, Founder, Broadway India. “Sankalp shares our future-forward vision for Broadway, and we believe this partnership is what Broadway needs to create new milestones.”
Kathuria, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a graduate of BITS Pilani, has previously worked across roles in strategy, operations, and P&L management. He most recently served as Senior Vice President at Zomato, overseeing growth for Zomato Dining in India and the UAE, and earlier worked as a consultant with Bain & Company in Delhi.
“I’m excited to bring my learnings from building online businesses into the world of physical retail — creating spaces where consumers discover, connect, and fall in love with new-age brands,” said Sankalp Kathuria, CEO & Co-Founder, Broadway India. “The last few months have been about assembling a strong foundation team and putting the right systems in place gearing up for - new launches, new geographic expansions, brand partners on board and the ever evolving experiences.”
Broadway currently operates flagship stores in Delhi and Hyderabad, with upcoming experiential outlets planned in Pune and Mumbai. The company described this as the start of a new phase, focused on combining its entrepreneurial approach with operational discipline to reimagine offline retail for a digitally savvy generation.
