Canva has introduced Canva AI 2.0, marking what the company describes as its most significant evolution since its launch in 2013.
The update positions Canva as a conversational and agentic platform, enabling users to move from idea to execution within a single environment. According to the company, the development is powered by its frontier AI lab and builds on investments in design-focused foundation models.
Key features include Conversational Design, which allows users to generate editable designs using prompts, and Agentic Orchestration, which enables the platform to execute tasks across multiple tools through a single interaction. Additional capabilities such as Object-Based Intelligence and Living Memory focus on editing precision, collaboration and personalised outputs.
The update also introduces workflow integrations, allowing users to connect tools such as Slack, Gmail, Google Drive and Zoom, along with features for automated scheduling and web-based research within the platform.
Canva stated that its proprietary AI models are designed for speed, cost efficiency and editability, and highlighted integrations with platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT to enable importing and editing of AI-generated content.
Canva AI 2.0 has been rolled out as a research preview starting April 16, initially available to a limited number of users, with wider access expected over the coming weeks.
