Capri Sports has launched Nova Sports, a girls-only football development platform aimed at creating a structured pathway from grassroots participation to elite-level football in India.
The initiative seeks to address the lack of a connected development ecosystem for young women footballers by bringing together schools, academies, coaching and competitive opportunities. As part of its rollout, Capri Sports has partnered with grassroots sports development organisation India On Track (IOT) as the execution partner.
Nova Sports builds on Capri Sports’ wider investment in women’s sport through initiatives such as The Sports Women and Team Girl. The new platform will focus specifically on developing a long-term ecosystem for girls’ football.
The initiative will be built around two interconnected pathways: a development pipeline focused on grassroots academies, coach education and internationally benchmarked training standards, and a competitive pathway designed to provide regular match exposure.
Capri Sports plans to expand Nova Sports from its initial city-based presence into a national platform over the next decade, with the ambition of reaching more than 1.5 million girls and creating greater opportunities for them to play, progress and pursue football at higher levels.
