Capri Sports Foundation has launched The Sports Women (TSW), an initiative focused on changing how women athletes are seen, supported, and celebrated, while also helping build the sporting environment they deserve.
On August 6, TSW will host its first major event, The TSW Huddle. This gathering will bring together athletes, brands, investors, and thought leaders to discuss new ideas, share insights from India’s first study on the business of women’s sports (done with KPMG), and explore what’s possible with the right support.
TSW is built on three pillars: Storytelling, Research, and Community. It aims to highlight untold stories, create new opportunities, and bring together athletes, fans, brands, and policymakers to build a strong support system for women in sports.
Through its CSR programme Beyond the Scorecard, Capri Sports has already run 11+ impactful projects, reaching over 10,000 girls, children, and youth across India. These initiatives have focused on access to education, nutrition, leadership, and visibility for women in sports.
Capri Sports, which owns the WPL team UP Warriorz and Mumbai-based women’s football team Warriorz FC, has also led several gender equity campaigns, ranging from street art and comic books for young girls to menstrual health drives and eco-friendly school supplies for tribal children.
“Our women athletes have long delivered beyond expectations, often without the support and resources they truly deserve. At Capri Sports, being in the thick of the game gives us a front-row view of both the immense potential and the glaring gaps that still hold women’s sport back. The Sports Women is how our Foundation acts on that understanding-building platforms, sparking new opportunities, and bringing people together to create the future women’s sport deserves,” said Jinisha Sharma, Director, Capri Sports.
