CARS24 Launches Compassion Policy for Employee Support

CARS24 introduces a pioneering Compassionate Policy, offering financial, legal, and emotional support to employees during crises

CARS24 Launches Compassion Policy for Employee Support

CARS24, India’s leading Autotech platform, has launched its industry-first Compassionate Policy, designed to provide essential support for employees during life's most challenging moments. This initiative underscores the company's commitment to creating a culture of care, proving that compassion is not just a promise but a core value at CARS24.

In an email to the team, Vikram Chopra, CEO & Founder of CARS24, stated, “Team, we all know that life can be unpredictable. Sometimes, it throws us into unexpected situations—a personal crisis, an emergency, or financial strain. Those tough times can feel overwhelming. In light of this, we are introducing the CARS24 Compassionate Policy, which offers support when you need it most.”

The policy provides immediate financial, legal, and emotional support to full-time employees facing personal crises, ensuring that no one has to navigate these challenges alone.

Types of Assistance: Assistance is tailored to individual needs and can take the form of grants or advances based on the employee's situation:

  • Grants for Severe Cases: Available for medical emergencies, critical illnesses, death, or disability, with no repayment expectation for employees earning less than ?15 lakhs per year.
  • Advances and EMI Schemes: For employees earning above ?15 lakhs or those with less urgent needs, advances or flexible EMI options are provided.

Scenarios of Need: Grants for life-altering events include:

  • Medical emergencies covering expenses not included by insurance.
  • A one-time grant for childbirth for eligible employees.
  • Legal aid and relocation support for employees escaping domestic violence.
  • Financial assistance for victims of burglary, assault, or fraud.
  • Grants for addiction recovery programmes and counselling services.
  • One-time grants for severe pet health emergencies.

For less urgent situations, support is available through:

  • Advances for non-medical urgencies like disaster repairs or urgent family travel.
  • Assistance for missed EMI payments.
  • Help with children’s education costs.

Comprehensive Support Beyond Financial Aid: CARS24 offers extensive support beyond financial assistance, including:

  • Legal guidance for cases of domestic violence, harassment, or fraud.
  • Access to medical consultations for critical healthcare decisions.
  • Emotional and psychological support from mental health professionals.
  • Relocation assistance for those escaping domestic violence.
  • Continued support for addiction recovery through counselling.

Vikram Chopra concluded, “We know we have a long way to go in building a genuinely generative and compassionate organisation, and we hope this is a small step towards a long and meaningful journey in getting there.”
