Credit can unlock opportunities, but understanding it is often anything but simple. CRED Foundation is looking to change that with its first educational advertising campaign, using humour and celebrity-led storytelling to make financial literacy more accessible.
The campaign features four ads, each fronted by a different celebrity, with every film tackling a different aspect of credit in under 60 seconds. Rather than leaning on jargon, warnings and fine print, the films use absurd situations, wit and relatable storytelling to make credit easier to understand and manage responsibly.
CRED Foundation is a Section 8 not-for-profit company funded through equity voluntarily contributed by CRED leadership, its team and investors. It was established with the belief that creditworthiness should not be limited to affluent consumers, and focuses on financial inclusion, education and consumer protection across India.
“While creditworthiness unlocks opportunity and access, it has been shrouded in esoteric language so far. As an extension of the CRED mission to catalyse financial progress, CRED Foundation’s new campaign closes the gaps in understanding with humour and clarity. It’s the first step in our effort to make financial literacy a right for every Indian,” said Miten Sampat, interim CEO, CRED.
