Crossword Bookstores has launched Script to Screen, a nationwide in-store campaign highlighting books that are being adapted for film and television.
Running from July until the end of August 2026 across nearly 40 stores, the campaign features dedicated display shelves showcasing nine titles linked to upcoming screen adaptations. The curated selection includes Verity, The Housemaid, Project Hail Mary, Beach Read, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Fourth Wing, Sunrise on the Reaping, The Deal and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
The initiative aims to capitalise on growing consumer interest in book-to-screen adaptations and the influence of online reading communities such as BookTok, encouraging readers to discover the original stories behind popular films and series.

Nidhi Gupta, Director at Crossword, stated, “Every screen adaptation begins with a writer’s imagination. With Script to Screen, we want readers to return to that first telling and discover the richness of the original story before, or after, they encounter it on screen.”
Through the campaign, Crossword seeks to increase store footfall and strengthen engagement by positioning its retail spaces at the intersection of books, entertainment and popular culture.
