To mark International Women's Day, the Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group has launched the #AManCan campaign. This initiative, a part of their Happy Home series, encourages men to adopt household chores like cooking as essential life skills.
While many of the world’s top chefs are men, household tasks like cooking have long been considered women’s work. The #AManCan campaign shatters this outdated stereotype, promoting the idea that if a man can achieve greatness in any area of life, he can also cook, clean, and share in household responsibilities.
As part of the initiative, Godrej Microwave Ovens has released a special cookbook titled "A ManCan Cookbook." Available for purchase on Amazon, the book is designed for men who have not yet ventured into the kitchen. Created by women who believe in the potential of all men, the cookbook features a selection of microwave recipes. It also highlights how men have historically achieved remarkable feats, suggesting that cooking can be just another achievement, with a little help from Godrej Microwave Ovens. The book aims to make the kitchen an inclusive space for everyone, where cooking becomes a shared and enjoyable activity.
The campaign will be promoted via a digital film, social media posts, influencer collaborations, and in-store activations. Customers will also experience engaging product displays. Influencers from various backgrounds have joined in to help amplify the message. Additionally, the campaign invites men to take a pledge to share cooking responsibilities at home and share it with the women in their lives.
Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Swati Rathi, Head of Marketing at Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “A sample poll of women revealed that while more than 70% wanted the men in their lives to learn to cook and participate in the kitchen, about 60% also said that the men in their families hardly knew how to cook! This validated our belief in #AManCan campaign which celebrates the idea that cooking and household chores are life skills that everyone can enjoy and embrace. With this initiative, we hope to inspire people to see that cooking isn't rocket science—it's something everyone can and should participate in, turning everyday household work into a shared and joyful experience.”
The campaign was conceptualised by Adfactors PR and the video was produced by VISCOMM 360 Communications Pvt. Ltd.
