Himalaya Wellness marked the Bengali New Year celebrations in Kolkata through a citywide engagement initiative that culminated at Poila Parbon 2026, a cultural carnival celebrating Bengali traditions and community gatherings.
Held from March 12 to March 15 at Central Park, Karunamoyee, Salt Lake Bookfair Ground, the four-day festival brought together families, artists, entrepreneurs and cultural enthusiasts. The event featured live music, artisanal markets, food stalls and cultural showcases, highlighting both traditional and contemporary aspects of Bengali culture.
As part of the celebrations, Himalaya Wellness participated as a sponsor and engaged visitors through its Dark Spots Clearing Turmeric range and Brightening Vitamin C range. The brand also conducted a series of activations designed to introduce consumers to its skincare offerings.
Ahead of the festival, the company organised a 10-day experiential van campaign across Kolkata beginning on February 27. The van travelled to different neighbourhoods, offering demonstrations, product trials and sampling related to the Turmeric and Vitamin C skincare ranges.
The initiative also included campus engagements across ten colleges in the city, including St. Andrew’s College and New Alipore College, where the brand conducted activities aimed at encouraging discussions around everyday skincare routines based on natural ingredients.
The campaign culminated at Poila Parbon 2026, where Himalaya set up a stall featuring the Turmeric and Vitamin C ranges. The brand also supported the event through on-ground branding and sponsorship of the festival’s fashion show.
Commenting on the collaboration, Rajesh Krishnamurthy, Business Director – CPD, Himalaya Wellness Company, said, “Cultural moments like Poila Boishakh present a valuable opportunity for brands to connect with consumers in authentic, community-driven settings. Through initiatives like Poila Parbon, we aim to build stronger awareness around our nature-inspired and science-backed skincare solutions while engaging meaningfully with audiences as they celebrate traditions and togetherness.”
Sharing a thought behind the festival, Ragini Hariharan, Marketing Director – Beauty & Personal Care, Himalaya Wellness Company, said, “Poila Boishakh is a time when Kolkata comes together to celebrate tradition, community, and self-expression. Through neighbourhood activations, campus engagements, and our presence at Poila Parbon, we wanted to connect with consumers in spaces where they celebrate and introduce simple skincare routines inspired by natural ingredients like Vitamin C and Turmeric.”
The festival featured performances by contemporary Bengali musicians, an artisanal marketplace with handloom textiles, terracotta and dokra crafts, and a food pavilion serving Bengali cuisine and regional dishes. Workshops and cultural activities were also organised for younger visitors.
With thousands of attendees participating in the celebrations, Poila Parbon 2026 continued its role as a cultural gathering in Kolkata’s festive calendar, bringing together music, art, food and community celebrations during the Bengali New Year.
