Himalaya Wellness has launched a truck booth activation in Tamil Nadu to provide respite from the summer heat, focusing on high-footfall public areas such as Marina Beach in Chennai. The initiative is aimed at daily wage workers, traffic police, sanitation staff, and commuters exposed to high temperatures during peak summer months.
The booths, branded with Himalaya’s Aloe Vera Gel Face Wash, allowed individuals to wash their faces and cool off. The activity also aimed to create moments of rest for people enduring long hours outdoors.
Ragini Hariharan, Marketing Director – Beauty & Personal Care, Himalaya Wellness, said, "At Himalaya, we have always believed that wellness goes beyond products; it's about how we show up for people in their everyday lives. In Tamil Nadu’s peak summer, our Aloe Vera Truck Booths weren’t just about a face wash. They became safe, soothing spaces that reminded people to take a moment for themselves. Whether it was a traffic constable pausing to cool off or a street vendor washing away a long day’s fatigue, these moments of care created real impact. And to us, that’s the true meaning of connection.”
Pratheep Kumar, Media Manager, Himalaya Wellness, added, “Being from Chennai, I know firsthand how relentless the summer heat can be between April and June. It only made sense to bring this initiative here, where people truly feel the intensity of the season. Marina Beach was the ideal location — a place where the city comes alive, even in the heat, and we were proud to offer a moment of relief.”
The initiative has been documented in a short video film, highlighting interactions between the brand and the local public. The video shows people engaging with the booth, sharing brief moments of gratitude and comfort.
