Hockey India and Coca-Cola India Host Final Phase of National Women’s Hockey League

Hockey India, supported by Coca-Cola India and its foundation Anandana, is hosting the final phase of the National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25 from March 18th to March 28th, 2025, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Following a successful first phase in April-May 2024, the league continues to provide a platform for India’s top female hockey talent to compete at the highest level.

The first-of-its-kind domestic league offers emerging athletes a chance to compete alongside seasoned names, with the potential to secure a place in the national team. It features the top eight teams from the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2024. The participating teams include Hockey Haryana, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Bengal, Hockey Mizoram, Manipur Hockey, and Hockey Association of Odisha.

Aiming to elevate women’s hockey, the National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25 is an extension of Coca-Cola India’s #SheTheDifference campaign, an initiative to celebrate, uplift, and support women. This partnership provides vital resources, including specialized coaching, training equipment, nutritional support, and the organization of camps and tournaments fostering the growth of the sport and empowering female athletes.

Commenting on the ongoing partnership, Hockey India President, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, said, “We are thrilled to host the final phase of the National Women’s Hockey League and extend our gratitude to Coca-Cola India for their unwavering support. This partnership is instrumental in elevating women’s hockey in India, providing young athletes with the resources and opportunities needed to excel. Together, we are setting a new benchmark for women’s hockey and paving the way for greater success at national and international levels.”

Echoing the President's sentiments, Hockey India Secretary General, Shri Bhola Nath Singh, said, “With Coca-Cola India's steadfast commitment has helped us create a strong foundation for female athletes. As we commence the final phase of the league, we look forward to witnessing exceptional performances that will define the future of Indian women’s hockey.”

Rajiv Gupta, Director, The Coca-Cola India Foundation, said, “At Coca-Cola India, we believe in the power to inspire and transform lives through meaningful community engagement. The National Women’s Hockey League is not just a tournament—it’s a platform that nurtures the next generation of women athletes. Through our #SheTheDifference campaign, we remain committed to equipping female athletes with the supportive ecosystem, while inspiring more young women to break barriers and pursue their passion in sports.”
