JioHotstar is strengthening its product, engineering and technology leadership as it advances AI-led capabilities and prepares for the next phase of intelligent, personalised streaming at scale. The platform has onboarded senior leaders from leading global and Indian technology companies to deepen expertise across discovery, personalisation, viewer experience, advertising technology and platform engineering.
The appointments bring together leadership experience from scaled consumer internet platforms including Flipkart, Google, CRED, Razorpay and Myntra, reinforcing JioHotstar’s focus on building robust discovery, engagement, monetisation and engineering systems.
Shrinivas SG joins as Senior Vice President – Discovery and Personalisation, bringing deep experience in building large-scale search and discovery platforms. Previously at Flipkart, he worked across search, catalog and trends, and played a key role in developing GenAI-powered conversational commerce with a focus on vernacular, voice and video-led discovery.
Strengthening consumer growth and engagement, Naveen Prashanth joins as Senior Vice President – Consumer Marketing from Google, where he led YouTube Shorts, Creator and Artist Marketing in India. His work spanned brand building, performance marketing and monetisation initiatives at scale. Earlier, he was associated with McKinsey & Company, advising FMCG and B2C organisations on growth and transformation programmes.
On the engineering front, Abhishek Sharan joins as Senior Vice President – Engineering (Viewer Experience). With over 15 years of experience, he has previously held leadership roles across the Flipkart Group and Myntra, working on platforms spanning search, recommendations, applications, advertising systems and trust and safety. Most recently, he served as Head of Engineering at SuperMoney.
Further strengthening advertising and monetisation technology, Abhishek Varshney joins as Principal Engineer – AdTech. He was previously with CRED for nearly five years, building products across payments, ordering and financial engineering. His earlier experience includes working on application platforms at Razorpay and infrastructure platforms at Flipkart.
The product and platform engineering bench is further strengthened by Chandramauli Singh, who joins from ShareChat, and Nishant Paliwal, who joins from Cleartrip, bringing experience in recommendation systems, scalable platform architectures and large-scale consumer engagement frameworks.
As part of earlier leadership announcements, David Zakkam had joined JioHotstar to lead analytics and data strategy, driving data-led decision-making across the platform. Separately, the JioStar Group recently announced the appointment of Emmy Award-winner Stephan Bugaj as Senior Vice President – GenAI Content & Technology, reinforcing its focus on intelligent content pipelines and interactive storytelling formats.
The expanded leadership team is expected to support JioHotstar’s next phase of growth as streaming increasingly shifts toward responsive, personalised and intelligence-led user experiences at scale.
