Kalyan Kumar has joined the Central Bank of India as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
He succeeds M.V. Rao, who retired on July 31, 2025. Before this role, Kumar was serving as Executive Director at Punjab National Bank since October 2021.
Kumar began his banking career in 1995 at Union Bank of India as a Rural Development Officer. Over the years, he has gained experience in areas like digital transformation, strategic planning, data analytics, economic advisory, and IT.
He was also closely involved in the merger of Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank with Union Bank of India.
