Kansai Nerolac Paints (KNPL) has reimagined its iconic ‘Jab Ghar Ki Raunak Badhani Ho’ jingle for the festive season, collaborating with music producer Yashraj Mukhate to give the familiar melody a fresh, celebratory spin.
The jingle, which has been part of Indian households since 1990, has become synonymous with festive preparations and celebrations. Over the years, Kansai Nerolac has revisited the tune for different generations while retaining the melody that audiences have grown up with. The latest version brings it into a new musical space, incorporating Mukhate’s distinctive style of adding unexpected twists to familiar tunes.
The digital video commercial (DVC) features Mukhate’s playful and lively musical treatment, celebrating colourful homes, cherished relationships and the spirit of Diwali. The campaign aims to retain the nostalgia associated with the original jingle while appealing to younger audiences through a high-energy rendition.
The campaign launches as India enters the festive season, when families come together to redecorate their homes, celebrate and reconnect. Colour, music, lights and gatherings remain central to the celebrations, with the Nerolac jingle continuing to be part of the festive landscape.
Commenting on the campaign, Ramkrishna Naik, CMO, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited, said, “Nerolac jingle is one of those melodies that isn’t just remembered, it gets sung along too. This festive season we wanted the jingle to sound just as vibrant as the celebrations. With Yashraj Mukhate’s fresh take we are honouring the legacy and have given a new rhythm to that familiar tune, so that it stays dear to those who grew up with it and wins over those hearing it for the first time.”
On his association with the brand, Mukhate said, “Reimagining a song that people can finish word by word is the best kind of challenge, along with a lot of responsibility and excitement. I left the part that people love exactly as it is and built new layers of sound around it, surprising people with beats they didn’t see coming. I hope it brings a smile this festive season. If you catch your feet tapping before the first verse ends, I’d say we’ve done our job.”
