Kraftshala, India’s leading marketing-jobs edtech platform, has unveiled a pioneering new program – the Emerging Talent batch of its Marketing Launchpad – which integrates Digital Marketing training with a robust Spoken English curriculum. This unique course aims to equip students, especially those less fluent in English, with the language skills needed to access high-quality jobs in the marketing field. The program will be taught in both Hindi and English, providing greater accessibility for non-English speakers.
In India, only 12% of the 800 million people in the productive age group are proficient in English, which remains a critical barrier to career advancement. To address this gap, government initiatives in Delhi and Karnataka have already seen promising results by integrating communication skills into the school curriculum. Even prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs are strengthening language training. In a country where English proficiency plays a vital role in socio-economic mobility, this new program aims to bridge the divide.
Varun Satia, Founder and CEO of Kraftshala, explained, “Learning English is not just a choice but a necessity. This program combines two critical skills—language proficiency and technical expertise—ensuring that students are not only able to speak English but are also ready to deliver from day one in high-potential roles."
Kraftshala is renowned for its job-linked online programs in digital marketing and sales, and it stands as the only edtech platform to consistently publish placement reports, boasting over 94% placement rates in 21 consecutive batches. The Marketing Launchpad Program is now the largest source of high-potential digital marketing talent in India, with major recruiters such as Google, Tata, Unilever, and Nykaa regularly hiring from its talent pool.
The Emerging Talent batch is a 19-week program that covers both digital marketing and five hours of weekly English instruction focused on vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and confidence. A unique feature of the course is its emphasis on real-world scenarios, such as client presentations, campaign discussions, and strategy meetings. This ensures that students not only become fluent in English but are also able to use it effectively in professional environments. The pilot batch saw excellent results, with placement rates exceeding 90% and annual salaries reaching ?5 lakh.
Varun Satia further explained, “Having run training and placement programmes for years, we’ve fine-tuned our English modules based on recruiter feedback and the specific needs of the industry, ensuring our students are job-ready from the start.”
India’s moderate ranking on the English Proficiency Index, as outlined by a British Council report, highlights the importance of such targeted language training programs. Kraftshala’s innovative course is a significant step towards reshaping the future of education and employment in India.
