Lalatendu Das Elevated to CEO, Publicis Media South Asia

Publicis Media South Asia appoints Lalatendu Das as CEO, succeeding Tanmay Mohanty, who will move on to explore new opportunities.

Lalatendu Das Elevated to CEO, Publicis Media South Asia

Publicis Groupe South Asia has announced the elevation of Lalatendu Das (LD) to the newly created role of CEO of Publicis Media South Asia. LD, who was previously the CEO of Performics India, will continue to report to Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Groupe South Asia, and work closely with other key media leaders, including Jai Lala (CEO of Zenith India), Rathi Gangappa (CEO of Starcom India), Sejal Shah (MD of PMX India), and other senior media executives.

Lalatendu Das joined Publicis Groupe India in early 2022 as the CEO of Performics India. His leadership has been instrumental in driving the growth of Performics, and his extensive experience in consulting, digital transformation, and large-scale operations across both Indian and global markets has made him well-suited to take on this expanded role at a transformative time for Publicis Media.

Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Groupe South Asia, praised LD for his exceptional leadership and achievements, stating, “LD is a remarkable leader with a proven track record. He has led Performics India to great heights over the past three years. His vast experience in consulting and digital-led transformation makes him uniquely qualified to drive significant value for our media clients. We are thrilled to have him take on this new role.”

In his new role, LD will be responsible for leading Publicis Media's South Asia operations, which include an expanding portfolio of media capabilities across strategy, insights, analytics, data, and technology. He aims to maintain the growth momentum at Publicis Media South Asia, delivering industry-first offerings and tangible, exponential growth for clients.

Lalatendu Das commented on his new role: “I am excited to lead Publicis Media South Asia at such a pivotal moment. The business has scaled across numerous capabilities, and I look forward to driving further growth and innovation, while delivering valuable outcomes for our clients. The opportunities are vast, and I am eager to help unlock them.”

In a related development, Tanmay Mohanty, the outgoing CEO of Publicis Media Services in South Asia, will be moving on to pursue new opportunities. During his tenure, Mohanty oversaw the operations of Zenith India and Starcom India, in addition to managing the Media Product & Solutions Portfolio.

Anupriya Acharya expressed her gratitude towards Tanmay Mohanty for his contributions, saying, “I would like to thank Tanmay for his invaluable contributions to Publicis Media. Under his leadership, we scaled our media services capabilities and became the best in the market. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
