MapmyIndia Mappls, India’s advanced digital maps and deep-tech products company, announced new partnerships with the Survey of India and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), marking a major expansion of its footprint in government and public-sector projects.
According to the company, these new alliances build on its existing engagements with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the anticipated collaboration with Indian Railways. Together, these projects reinforce MapmyIndia Mappls’ role as a key technology provider in the government’s digital infrastructure initiatives.
Rakesh Verma, Co-founder, Chairman and Managing Director, MapmyIndia Mappls, said, “It is a proud moment for us to offer our solutions and technology to two of India’s leading institutions — Survey of India, the country’s premier topographic mapping agency, and IOCL, a Maharatna public sector enterprise. These partnerships mark an important step toward the government’s vision of decolonising and strengthening India’s geospatial sector. As India aims for a ₹1 lakh crore geospatial economy by 2030, collaboration between public and private sectors will be essential.”
Under this engagement, the MapmyIndia Mappls platform will power the National Geo Platform – Spatially Enabling Digital India, a comprehensive system to standardise, share, and manage foundational geospatial datasets such as Ortho-Rectified Imagery, Digital Elevation Models, Administrative Boundaries, and Geodetic Reference Frames.
The platform will provide seamless access to spatial data through APIs, web services, and mobile interfaces, enabling greater collaboration between government departments, academia, and industry. It will also include a Geospatial Data Integration & Dissemination System, Integrated Geospatial Application Interface (IGAI), and a Spatial Data Registry (SDR) for metadata management.
For IOCL, MapmyIndia Mappls will design and implement an Integrated and Enterprise-level Centralised Vehicle Tracking and Management System (CVTMS) across the company’s nationwide LPG truck fleet. The system will include safety features such as Geo-fencing, Route Optimization, Journey Risk Management, and Real-time Monitoring.
The project will cover approximately 23,000 LPG trucks operating across 150 supply locations. According to the company, these IoT-based solutions will support IOCL’s goals of enhancing safety, operational efficiency, compliance, and fleet visibility, while reducing downtime and mitigating risks such as pilferage and accidents.
MapmyIndia Mappls stated that both collaborations align with the government’s Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions. The company added that it remains focused on developing Make in India geospatial technologies for domestic and global markets.
