Sri Narasu’s Coffee Company is marking its centenary with a new TVC, ‘A Century in a Cup’, which takes viewers on a journey through 100 years of India, using a cup of coffee as the thread connecting generations.
The film follows a young woman in 2026 who is transported across different eras with every sip of Narasu’s Coffee. From a 1926 cabinet room and the freedom movement of 1946 to a family gathering in 1966, the 1983 Cricket World Cup and an early-2000s internet café, the film captures changing moments in India’s history while keeping coffee at its heart.
Conceptualised by Hari RK and produced by HI TIME, the film uses period sets, production design, visual effects and VFX to recreate each era.
Speaking about the campaign, S. Srudheep, Managing Director, Sri Narasu’s Coffee, said, “Reaching 100 years is a significant milestone for us. The centenary is as much about looking at the last century’s journey as it is about celebrating the milestone. Over the years, India has changed in so many ways. Yet, coffee has continued to be part of people’s everyday lives, conversations, celebrations and memories. The film brings this thought to life by taking viewers through different eras and moments that feel familiar, while keeping a cup of Narasu’s at the heart of the journey. ‘A Century in a Cup’ is our way of celebrating not just where we have come from, but the generations of coffee lovers who have made Narasu’s part of their lives.”
The TVC rolled out on Tamil television channels and the brand’s social media platforms in Tamil and Kannada from 15 August. The six-month campaign will also be released in Telugu.
