Navi has entered the motor insurance segment with a fully digital, direct-to-customer offering, expanding its insurance portfolio.
The company said customers can buy comprehensive, own-damage and third-party policies for cars and two-wheelers through the Navi app, with instant issuance and paperless documentation. The offering is positioned as a zero-commission product, removing intermediary costs typically associated with agent- and dealer-led distribution.
Navi General Insurance said the direct model allows it to pass on cost efficiencies to customers while simplifying the purchase and policy management process.
The move marks Navi’s expansion into a segment that accounts for around 30–35% of India’s general insurance premiums, driven by mandatory third-party coverage and increasing vehicle ownership.
The company said its motor insurance product includes a fully digital journey, technology-led underwriting for personalised pricing, and an in-house claims team aimed at faster processing. Coverage is available for electric vehicles as well as internal combustion engine vehicles, with add-ons such as zero depreciation, roadside assistance and engine protection.
“Motor insurance is one of the most widely held financial products in India, yet the buying and claims experience remains complicated. As a digital-first insurer, we are removing commissions and passing on the savings to customers,” said Vaibhav Goyal, Managing Director and CEO, Navi General Insurance.
Motor insurance is now available on the Navi app for customers across India
