OneAssist has partnered with fintech platform Ezeepay to make AI-powered smartphone protection available for eligible existing devices across India. The collaboration will allow consumers to enrol smartphones they already own for screen protection through Ezeepay's nationwide retailer network, addressing a gap in the market where millions of devices remain uninsured after purchase.
Unlike conventional protection plans that are typically available only at the point of sale, OneAssist's proprietary AI-powered device assessment enables eligible smartphones to be enrolled even after purchase. Consumers can upload a short video of their smartphone through a secure digital link, following which OneAssist's AI engine evaluates the device's condition and determines eligibility within minutes.
Using the Ezeepay Retailer App, retailers can offer OneAssist's Screen Protection Plans through a fully digital process. Once approved, customers receive benefits including accidental screen damage coverage, doorstep pickup and delivery, and repairs through authorised service centres.
The partnership comes at a time when smartphone prices and repair costs continue to rise, making device protection increasingly relevant. By extending protection to existing smartphones, the companies aim to reduce consumers' out-of-pocket repair expenses while expanding access beyond traditional retail purchase points.
Commenting on the partnership, Abhishek Maheshwari, CEO of OneAssist, said, "Smartphones today represent one of the most valuable everyday investments for consumers, with device prices increasing significantly over the past few years. Yet, a large number of existing smartphones continue to remain unprotected, exposing users to expensive repair costs in the event of accidental damage. Through our partnership with Ezeepay, we are making it simple for consumers to protect the smartphones they already own through an AI-powered digital assessment and a trusted nationwide retail network. Together, we are making smartphone protection more accessible, convenient, and relevant for millions of users across India."
The collaboration also creates an additional business opportunity for Ezeepay's retailer ecosystem. By offering smartphone protection as a value-added service, retailers can strengthen customer relationships while generating incremental income, while supporting Ezeepay's strategy of expanding its portfolio of digital services across urban, semi-urban and rural markets.
Sharing his thoughts on the partnership, Shams Tabrej, Co-founder & CEO of Ezeepay (MJ Digital Services), said, "At Ezeepay, we are committed to equipping our retailer network with relevant, high-impact services that create value for both consumers and businesses. As smartphones become more valuable and repair costs continue to increase, protecting existing devices has become more important than ever. Our partnership with OneAssist enables retailers to offer a trusted AI-powered smartphone protection solution while creating new revenue opportunities and delivering greater value to customers."
OneAssist, which has served over three crore customers, said it will continue to expand access to smartphone protection through partnerships across retail, fintech, e-commerce and enterprise ecosystems, combining AI-led innovation with its nationwide service infrastructure.
