The weekly video series explains India’s development initiatives through short, character-led stories aimed at improving public understanding and civic literacy

Oneindia Launches ‘Viksit Bharat’ Snackable Video Series on Government Schemes

Oneindia has launched Viksit Bharat, a government-focused snackable video series designed to simplify and humanise India’s flagship development schemes for citizens. The initiative aims to present verified, structured, and actionable information around public programmes in a more accessible storytelling format.

The series introduces two recurring characters—Viksit, the inquisitive nephew representing young India’s curiosity, and Bharat, the chacha symbolising experience and institutional wisdom. Through a conversational narrative, the duo explores the purpose, logic, and intended impact of national welfare initiatives.

Each episode follows a question-and-answer format in which Viksit challenges the rationale behind government schemes, while Bharat explains how these initiatives are designed to strengthen citizens, support economic development, and contribute to long-term national growth. This recurring exchange between curiosity and clarity forms the core narrative device of the series.

Every episode focuses on a single scheme and breaks it down into how it benefits citizens, its application in real-life contexts, and its broader economic and national relevance. The content is structured to make complex policies easier to understand and more relatable to everyday life.

Viksit Bharat will stream exclusively on Oneindia’s YouTube channel, which reaches 21.8 million subscribers, and on the Oneindia website. In its initial rollout, the series will release one episode each week, with the first episode already live.

Speaking on the launch of Viksit Bharat, Ravanan N, CEO, Oneindia, says, “Viksit Bharat strengthens our mission to make credible public information accessible to every Indian. This initiative is a decisive step in empowering citizens with clarity, awareness, and the knowledge needed to participate in India’s growth story. It shows how policy translates into opportunity.”

This series is intended to be a public knowledge initiative designed to help every individual understand the opportunities available to them.”

With this launch, Oneindia extends its focus on public information and civic literacy, using short-form video storytelling to decode policy and make government initiatives easier to navigate for a wide audience.
