Pokémon has partnered with the Gujarat Titans for the 2025 league season, with Pikachu featuring in training sessions and home games throughout the campaign.
As part of the collaboration, Pokémon was involved in the franchise’s Junior Titans program, a grassroots initiative aimed at encouraging children under the age of 14 to take up sports. The program, held across five cities in Gujarat, included visits from the Pokémon team to two centres. At the Ahmedabad centre, Pikachu made a surprise appearance, participating in warm-up exercises with children using Radio Taiso Number One, a Japanese warm-up routine.
During the league season, Pokémon set up a booth at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The booth, decorated with Pokémon-themed artwork, attracted approximately 42,000 visitors over seven home games. Pikachu, dressed in a Gujarat Titans jersey, appeared at the booth on most home-game days to interact with visitors and pose for photos. Attendees received Pikachu stickers, while selected children from the Junior Titans program were invited to meet Pikachu at the stadium.
Colonel Arvinder Singh, COO of Gujarat Titans, said, “Our partnership with The Pokémon Company reflects our focus on innovative fan engagement with an internationally recognised brand. From the Junior Titans initiative to in-stadium experiences, young fans were excited to interact with Pikachu, sporting Gujarat Titans colours — adding a unique dimension to our 2025 campaign.”
Beyond the stadium, Pikachu also appeared at Nexus One, Ahmedabad, as part of the Pokémon Fiesta event. Activities included dance shows, mini-games, and interactive elements for visitors. The Gujarat Titans logo was also featured on Poké Stops across Ahmedabad in the Pokémon GO mobile game.
Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company, said, “We are delighted to partner with Gujarat Titans and congratulate the team for reaching the Playoffs. This partnership gave us the opportunity to interact with young cricketers, in addition to the professional league team as well as the general public in Ahmedabad. We were able to tap into a new audience that we had been unable to reach so far. We hope our sports projects will keep connecting us with new partners and audiences through exciting collaborations.”
Pokémon stated it intends to continue expanding its audience through similar collaborations, aiming to offer new experiences and engagement opportunities for both existing and potential fans.
