Personal care brand Plush and backpacker hostel chain Zostel have announced a partnership aimed at addressing a common yet often unspoken concern for women travellers, unexpected periods while on the move.
The collaboration stems from a shared insight: while women meticulously plan most aspects of travel, menstrual preparedness is frequently left to chance, particularly in unfamiliar destinations. The anxiety of not having access to sanitary products while travelling is a widely shared experience among menstruators.
As part of the initiative, every female traveller checking into a Zostel property will receive a comfort pouch curated by Plush. The pouch includes rash-free sanitary pads, playful stickers, and an insurance card that offers support for issues such as rashes, irritation, and discomfort. The initiative is designed to ensure women feel prepared and supported throughout their journeys.
Ketan Munoth, Co-founder, Plush, said, "Travel should expand your world, not your worries. Every woman has a story of being caught off-guard by her period while travelling - they have lived that moment of panic. This collaboration is our way of saying: you don’t have to feel that again. We’re here, making sure comfort travels with you."
Aviral Gupta, CEO- Zostel, said, "Travel should be liberating, not anxiety-inducing. Women deserve spaces where comfort isn’t an afterthought but a priority. By partnering with Plush, we’re ensuring that every woman who walks into a Zostel feels welcomed, cared for, and free to explore without hesitation."
Through this partnership, Plush and Zostel are attempting to reframe women’s travel experiences by integrating menstrual preparedness into hospitality touchpoints, positioning comfort and dignity as essential elements of travel rather than afterthoughts.
