Prashant Shetty, Executive Vice President – Ad Sales at JioStar, is set to join Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) as Head of Ad Sales, according to people familiar with the development.
In his new role, Shetty will lead Zee's advertising revenue business across linear television and digital platforms, overseeing the company's integrated advertising strategy and monetisation across its broadcast and digital properties.
His move brings to an end a nearly seven-year stint at JioStar, where he was a key member of the broadcaster's advertising sales leadership team. During his tenure, Shetty played a significant role in driving strategic client partnerships and revenue growth across several marquee entertainment and sports properties. His exit comes as JioStar continues integrating its advertising business following the merger of Viacom18 and Disney Star India.
With over 25 years of experience in media sales, advertising and broadcast monetisation, Shetty has held leadership roles across television, digital, print, radio and news media.
He joined Star India in 2015 as Vice President for the Hindi General Entertainment Cluster (West Region), where he led sales, pricing strategy and new business development. In 2017, he moved to Sony Pictures Networks India as Senior Vice President – Sales, overseeing monetisation for the network's music portfolio following the acquisition of Sony Mix and Rox HD.
Earlier in his career, Shetty held leadership positions at NDTV, Sakal Media Group, Big 92.7 FM (Adlabs Films) and Tata Infomedia after beginning his career in client servicing at Angel Broking.
For Zee Entertainment, the appointment comes as the company continues to strengthen its cross-platform advertising capabilities, with an increasing focus on integrated sales solutions spanning television and digital.
