Protean eGov Technologies Ltd. (formerly NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd.) has elevated V Easwaran as an Additional Director in the category of Executive Director on its Board. The appointment comes as the company advances its longer-term strategy centred on business diversification, platform-led growth and international expansion.
Protean has been involved in building and operating large-scale digital public infrastructure in India for over three decades, supporting several population-scale and mission-critical platforms. As India’s digital public infrastructure ecosystem matures and gains global relevance, the company is placing greater emphasis on governance, execution capability and scalable delivery models that can be deployed across geographies.
Easwaran currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Protean, where he has overseen operational execution across national digital programmes and focused on strengthening delivery resilience across the company’s digital ecosystem. His elevation reflects an emphasis on leadership continuity as Protean expands into new sectors and explores opportunities beyond India.

Easwaran brings over 30 years of experience across banking, digital transformation and large-scale operations. His career includes roles at India Post Payments Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. His background spans institution-building initiatives and technology-led platforms in regulated environments, aligning with Protean’s plans to extend India-developed digital public infrastructure models to global markets.
