Pure Home has brought sisters Bhumi and Samiksha Pednekar together for the launch of its first-ever Kansa collection, drawing on their childhood memories of family gatherings and festive traditions.
For the sisters, some of their fondest festive memories are rooted in their grandmother’s home, where the family gathered around the table, favourite dishes were served and Kansa utensils were brought out for special occasions. These familiar rituals remain an important part of how they remember celebrations growing up.
Kansa has long been associated with Indian food and festive traditions. For Bhumi and Samiksha, it also evokes a time when preparing for a celebration was as much about the little rituals as the occasion itself. From setting the table to serving food with care, these moments brought family members together and gave the festive season its meaning.
Today, as the sisters celebrate in their own homes, they find themselves reconnecting with many of those traditions. While the way people live and entertain has changed, the desire to bring family and friends together and make occasions special remains.

The association brings these memories and traditions into focus through Pure Home’s new collection, which includes dinnerware, pooja thalis, dessert bowls and spoons, glasses, chargers and serving bowls. The range brings Kansa, a material rooted in Indian homes and rituals, to contemporary dining settings.
For the sisters, the appeal of Kansa lies in its ability to retain its traditional significance while fitting into modern homes. It connects them to the spaces they grew up in while offering a way to incorporate familiar materials into their own festive celebrations.
Their association with Pure Home centres on the connection between generations and the traditions that continue to shape how families celebrate. It reflects the idea of holding on to familiar materials, rituals and memories while adapting them to new homes and ways of living.
Through the collection, Pure Home brings Kansa to the contemporary table as a reminder of the festive gatherings of childhood and the traditions that can be carried forward into the next generation.
