Renault Group has announced two senior leadership appointments in India, reflecting the country’s growing role in the company’s global design and engineering operations.
Sandeep Bhambra has been named Chief Designer Advanced Renault and Head of Renault Design Centre India (RDCI). Dr. Vikraman V joins as Chief of Renault Engineering at the Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) in Chennai.
These appointments are part of Renault Group’s ongoing strategy to expand its presence in India and strengthen collaboration with local teams.
Dr. Vikraman will lead engineering operations at RNTBCI, focusing on product development and research and development activities. He previously worked at Mahindra & Mahindra, where he led the Vehicle Mechanical Division. He has experience in both electric and internal combustion engine platforms. He holds a master’s degree and a PhD in automotive engineering from IIT Madras.
Sandeep Bhambra will head RDCI while continuing his role as Chief Designer Advanced Renault. He will report to Laurens van den Acker, Chief Design Officer, Renault Group.

Since 2021, Bhambra has led Advanced Design and Concept Cars for Renault in France, contributing to projects including the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, 4EVER Trophy, Scenic Vision, Estafette Concept, Renault Emblème, and Filante Record 2025. His previous roles include positions at Peugeot and Tata Motors, with experience in both concept and production vehicles across India, the UK, and France.

Renault also announced that its design facility in Chennai will now be officially known as Renault Design Centre India, aligning with its expanded role.
