Royal Canin has introduced ‘Fussy Cat’, a specialised dry food designed to address selective eating behaviour among cats, a challenge affecting an estimated 36 per cent of felines.
Positioned under the brand’s ‘Health through Nutrition’ philosophy, the product features poultry-based proteins and fats, with a 40 per cent protein composition. It has been developed to enhance palatability through a combination of crunchy texture and aroma, aimed at stimulating appetite while delivering complete and balanced nutrition.

The launch is supported by a digital film that captures the everyday challenges faced by pet owners dealing with fussy eaters, highlighting how tailored nutrition can improve feeding habits and overall well-being.
Beyond palatability, the formulation is designed to support digestive tolerance and healthy weight maintenance. Its nutrient-dense, protein-rich composition enables smaller portion sizes while ensuring adequate nutritional intake.
Commenting on the product launch, Satinder Singh, General Manager, Royal Canin India, said, “Selective eating in cats is a common trait, which can be misunderstood as a behavioural issue. Our research shows that it’s often closely linked to sensory expectations and digestive comfort. With Fussy Cat, we have focused on aligning taste, texture, and nutritional precision to meet these specific needs. Cat parents can now ensure their cats are well-fed and receive all their nutritional requirements from Fussy Cat, which offers a balanced, holistic, and palatable diet.”
The product has been validated through extensive research, including a CMI study involving 122 cat owners. According to the findings, 86 per cent reported that the diet helped address their cat’s fussiness, while 81 per cent said they would recommend it after two months of use.
