Saleem Ahmad, Chairman and Managing Director of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of IRCON International Ltd (IRCON), the Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, effective July 1, 2026.
On his first day at IRCON’s corporate office in New Delhi, Ahmad held discussions with the company's Board of Directors on its business position, strategic priorities and future growth plans. He also chaired review meetings with the senior management, including Directors, Executive Directors, Chief General Managers, General Managers and other officials, followed by a separate review of the company’s financials with the finance team.
During the meetings, Ahmad was presented with IRCON’s corporate presentation and corporate film, providing an overview of the company’s operations, capabilities and future roadmap.
Addressing the leadership team, Ahmad stressed the importance of disciplined execution, professionalism and result-oriented functioning. He called for timely decision-making, efficient project implementation, realistic target setting and continuous monitoring to ensure adherence to project schedules.
He also emphasised that punctuality should extend beyond office attendance to include timely project completion, prompt decisions and swift corrective action. Highlighting quality and safety as non-negotiable priorities, Ahmad urged regular site visits, close project supervision and effective monitoring of contractors and subcontractors, while noting that timely payments play a key role in smooth project execution.
The CMD also underscored the need for close engagement with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Railways, clients and project partners, while maintaining financial prudence and operational efficiency.
Concluding his address, Ahmad urged employees to work with dedication and discipline to sustain the company's growth momentum and contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
His additional appointment is expected to strengthen collaboration between RVNL and IRCON and enhance the execution of rail and transport infrastructure projects.
