Salty has partnered with Bark Out Loud by Vivaldis to launch ‘Charms for Change’, a CSR initiative in Delhi aimed at improving visibility, safety and daily care for stray dogs. The programme combines collar-based identification with food distribution to encourage calmer public interaction.
The initiative addresses concerns around the lack of visible identification for stray dogs, which can contribute to fear and negative behaviour. Collars were designed to provide clear cues for recognition and reassurance in shared urban spaces.
Each collar includes a vaccinated tag, a glow-in-the-dark charm to improve visibility at night, and themed elements such as ‘Girl Power’ and ‘I Love Cats’. Additional design features include sunflowers and bows.
As part of the programme, Bark Out Loud distributed dog food to more than 300 stray dogs. The initiative covered 300 dogs across Delhi and was carried out in collaboration with Friendicoes SECA, with on-ground support from Bark Out Loud teams and volunteers.
Speaking on the initiative, Sonaal Garg, Co-Founder, Salty, said, “Charms for Change came from a simple belief that visibility leads to empathy. Partnering with Bark Out Loud by Vivaldis allowed us to bring together design and on-ground animal care in a way that is thoughtful and responsible. This initiative is not about making dogs look decorative; it is about giving them dignity and recognition. When a dog carries clear, visible markers of care, people pause, respond differently, and often more kindly. We do not see this as a solution to a complex issue, but as a small, collaborative intervention that can influence behaviour and create safer, more compassionate interactions on the streets.”
Kunal Khanna, CEO, Bark Out Loud, Vivaldis, said, “At Bark Out Loud, our work is rooted in animal health and everyday wellbeing. Collaborating with Salty on Charms for Change helped translate care into visible, design-led cues that communities can immediately understand. When healthcare awareness, nourishment, and thoughtful design come together through partnerships like this, it reduces fear and misinformation on the ground. What makes this collaboration meaningful is its simplicity, small, repeatable actions carried out across neighbourhoods that collectively improve safety for both animals and people.”
The organisers said the initiative is intended as a practical intervention combining design, healthcare awareness and nourishment support to encourage more humane coexistence in urban areas.
