Actor Shamita Shetty has announced her entry into entrepreneurship, joining hands with home chef Swati Soni as co-founder of Meve Jars. The brand, which began as Soni’s kitchen experiment, claims to make nut-based spreads with 73% real nuts and no preservatives.
The association started when Shetty, while searching for healthier snacking options, asked her social media followers for suggestions. Among the responses was Soni, who sent a sample of her handcrafted spreads. After trying them, Shetty decided to approach Soni with a proposal to collaborate formally.
Shamita Shetty said, "It's rare to find something that ticks all the boxes: clean ingredients, nourishing, and it tastes incredible. After I tried it, I just kept thinking about it, and a simple endorsement deal didn't feel right. I realised I didn't just want to be a face on a poster, I wanted to get involved and help grow the business. That’s why I reached out with a bigger idea—to join her as a co-founder and build this brand together."
For Swati Soni, whose brand began in her home kitchen, the offer was unexpected, "When Shamita called and said she wanted to be my partner, I almost couldn't believe it," she said. "She just got it. She understood what Meve Jars is about; real food, clean ingredients, no compromises. All I ever wanted was to share what I make with people, and with her by my side, that’s becoming a reality in a way I never expected."
According to the brand, Soni will continue developing the products, while Shetty will contribute her experience and network as a wellness advocate. The company positions itself as catering to a rising demand for health-conscious and preservative-free food products in India.
