Smt. Priyadarshini Gaddam assumed the role of Director (Personnel) at NMDC last Friday. Her appointment as a Functional Director on the Board of the company was made by the Ministry of Steel.
Before taking up this prestigious position, she was the Chief General Manager (Personnel & Administration) and Head of Personnel for both the NMDC Corporate Office in Hyderabad and NMDC Steel Limited in Nagarnar. Smt. Priyadarshini joined NMDC as an Executive Trainee in 1992 and has risen steadily through the company’s ranks, becoming a leader in the field and inspiring more women to take up leadership roles in the mining industry.
Over her more than three-decade-long career, Smt. Priyadarshini has been instrumental in establishing a safe work environment for women and promoting equal opportunities for marginalised communities. She has set exemplary standards in employee welfare at NMDC while also streamlining procedures in Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Medical Policies, and Stakeholder Management. Additionally, she represented NMDC in the Second Pay Revision Commission, achieving significant outcomes in negotiating wage settlements.
Smt. Priyadarshini’s leadership was particularly evident at NMDC Steel Limited (NSL), where she guided the R&R Policy and advocated for skill development initiatives in the community. She also spearheaded the creation of the Fire Department, Occupational Health Centre, and Primary Health Centre at NSL, all of which have significantly improved the well-being and safety of the workforce.
An alumna of Osmania University, Hyderabad, she holds a postgraduate degree in Social Work (Personnel Management and Industrial Relations) and an LLB. With Smt. Priyadarshini at the helm as Director (Personnel), NMDC is poised for enhanced productivity and collective growth in the industry.
