Tata Communications launches self-healing network for data centre connectivity

New 'Izo' platform aims to reduce downtime and automate traffic rerouting across global data centres

Tata Communications launches self-healing network for data centre connectivity

Tata Communications has launched Izo Data Centre Dynamic Connectivity, a software-defined platform aimed at improving how enterprises connect data centres across geographies.

The platform is designed for an increasingly distributed and AI-driven environment, where enterprises rely on uninterrupted data flows to run operations ranging from financial transactions and manufacturing systems to streaming and online retail.

Traditional data centre-to-data centre (DC-to-DC) networks were built for predictable workloads and stable traffic patterns. However, enterprises today operate across multiple global locations and cloud environments, moving large volumes of data in real time.

Disruptions such as cable outages, route failures and sudden spikes in demand can lead to service outages and operational risks. These issues are often handled through manual intervention, increasing response time and downtime.

Tata Communications’ Izo platform introduces a self-healing network that uses deterministic multi-path routing to maintain performance and reroute traffic automatically during disruptions. The company claims the platform can deliver over 99.99% service availability across critical infrastructure.

The platform also includes a unified interface and APIs that allow enterprises to monitor performance, receive alerts and scale bandwidth as needed. It uses AI-driven predictive insights to help forecast capacity requirements and optimise network usage.

According to the company, the consumption-based pricing model can help enterprises reduce reliance on idle backup capacity and lower operational costs by up to 30%.

Commenting on the launch, Genius Wong, Executive Vice President, Core and Next-Gen Connectivity Services and Chief Technology Officer, Tata Communications, said, “Data centres are the core engines of today’s digital economy, and the connections between them must be as resilient as the networks that connect them. They must be just as dynamic as the applications they support. With IZO™ DC Dynamic Connectivity, we are shifting resilience from a reactive process to an autonomous capability. By combining global reach, deterministic routing and intelligent automation, we are enabling enterprises to build a digital foundation that scales with confidence and operates without disruption.”
