Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) has unveiled TATA.CARS, its new global consumer-facing brand identity, along with the brand promise ‘Nothing’s Too Far’.
The new identity brings TMPV’s passenger vehicle portfolio under a single master brand as the company looks to shape its next phase of growth and mobility for a new generation of consumers. The move builds on the trust of more than seven million customers and the company’s evolution across safety, SUVs and electric mobility.
Commenting on the launch, Shailesh Chandra, MD & CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, said, “For decades, we have grown alongside India’s aspirations, helping make the future more accessible through meaningful innovation. From India’s first indigenous car to pioneering electric mobility and making safety mainstream, we have consistently challenged limits and expanded possibilities for millions of customers. Yet, we believe our boldest ambitions remain ahead of us. Today, we proudly introduce TATA.CARS. More than a new brand identity, it is a declaration of intent for the future we envision. Anchored in the promise, ‘Nothing’s Too Far’, it conveys our belief that mobility should open doors, embrace possibilities and empower people to get closer to what matters most to them. As the world moves towards a more connected, intelligent and sustainable future, TATA.CARS will continue creating breakthrough products, experiences and ecosystems that help customers unlock new possibilities and pursue their ambitions without limits.”
The name TATA.CARS is based on how consumers have traditionally referred to the company’s vehicles as a “Tata car”. The new identity formalises this familiar expression into a unified brand covering hatchbacks, sedans, premium SUVs, electric vehicles and future mobility solutions.
At the centre of the brand proposition is ‘Nothing’s Too Far’, which reflects the company’s belief that mobility can help consumers pursue their ambitions and overcome barriers. The proposition is positioned alongside TATA.CARS, with the brand name defining what the company offers and the promise articulating its broader purpose.
The new identity also introduces a visual, verbal and sonic system built around ‘Parallel Pathways’, inspired by the geometry of the Tata ‘T’ and the lines of a road. The design concept represents different journeys moving towards a common direction of progress.
Other elements include Ambition Blue, an evolution of Tata’s blue; Parallel Display, a bespoke typeface; and a new sonic identity designed to evoke a sense of energy and achievement.
TATA.CARS will be rolled out across consumer-facing touchpoints, including digital platforms, retail environments, service locations and brand communications, with the aim of creating a more consistent experience across discovery, purchase and ownership.
While the consumer-facing identity changes, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. remains the company’s legal entity and will continue to be used for statutory, regulatory and investor communications. The iconic ellipse on Tata vehicles, as well as existing product brands, will remain unchanged.
The launch marks a shift in how TMPV plans to present its passenger vehicle business to consumers, while retaining its focus on safety, quality, engineering and innovation.
