The Revolver Club has launched ‘The Lyric Endorsement’, a new campaign conceptualised by VIRTUE India that uses iconic song lyrics referencing 'records' to promote vinyl and drive sales.
The campaign is rooted in a cultural insight: across decades, genres and artistes, song lyrics have consistently referred to music as a 'record'—despite shifts from vinyl to cassettes, CDs and streaming. Lines such as “Put another record on” and “You spin me right round, baby, like a record” continue to reflect how music is described and remembered.
Building on this, the campaign translates these lyrics into a series of posters that position vinyl as the original format of music consumption. Each creative pairs a well-known lyric with the line: “Music is vinyl. We have it on record.”
The campaign also integrates commerce into the idea. Each poster is linked to the corresponding vinyl available on The Revolver Club, enabling consumers to move directly from recognition to purchase.
Beyond print, the campaign extends across digital platforms. On Instagram, lyric-led creatives aim to drive discovery and traffic to the brand’s catalogue. On WhatsApp, the brand’s community receives daily lyric drops paired with curated vinyl recommendations and offers. Together, these touchpoints are designed to create a seamless journey from cultural recall to transaction.
“At a time when streaming has changed how we access music, it hasn’t changed how we talk about it,” said Jude De Souza, Founder and CEO, The Revolver Club. “For decades, artists have referred to music as a record. The Lyric Endorsement brings that idea back into focus.”
Hayden Scott, Creative Head, VIRTUE India, added, “We didn’t invent anything new—we just listened more closely. Artists have been reinforcing vinyl in their lyrics for years. The idea was to take those words out of songs and give them a new life in the real world.”
With this campaign, The Revolver Club positions itself not only as a retailer but also as a player in the ongoing revival of vinyl culture, linking nostalgia, language and purchase behaviour within a single framework.
