Third Wave Coffee and HarperCollins India launch a café-based reading initiative, blending curated books and brews to foster community and creativity

Third Wave Coffee & HarperCollins India launch ‘Paperbacks & Pour Overs’

Celebrating World Book Day, Third Wave Coffee, a prominent homegrown café brand, and publishing house HarperCollins India have joined forces to launch Paperbacks & Pour Overs—an initiative that combines the comfort of coffee with the joy of reading.

The programme introduces curated book corners at select Third Wave Coffee cafés across the country. Each corner features the HarperCollins Discovery Set, a rotating collection of bestselling and popular titles from both Indian and international authors.

These dedicated bookshelves aim to transform cafés into inviting reading nooks. Customers can pick up a book, enjoy it over a cup of their favourite pour-over, and return it for someone else to discover—adding a shared, community-driven element to the experience.

“At Third Wave Coffee, we’ve always believed that our cafés are more than just places to grab a great cup — they’re where people pause, connect, and create. Coffee and books have always come together effortlessly, and with Paperbacks & Pour Overs, we’re excited to give this natural pairing a place in our spaces. This partnership is a celebration of two rituals — reading and brewing — and we're proud to bring them to life for our community,” said Rajat Luthra, CEO, Third Wave Coffee.

The collaboration is also set to host a series of engaging literary events including author masterclasses, book club meetups, workshops, and themed merchandise, further weaving reading into everyday café culture.

Speaking about this initiative, Shabnam Srivastava – GM Marketing, HarperCollins India, adds, “As we go ahead with our plan of building READ[er] communities, we are thrilled to have Third Wave Coffee as our partners to jointly build up on the bond between coffee and books as we endeavour to add another dimension to the coffee-lovers' experience by bring them a list of curated books to read as they sip!”

Paperbacks & Pour Overs aims to elevate the café experience by turning it into a lifestyle space where stories and brews blend effortlessly—one page, one pour, and one conversation at a time.
