Titan Watches marks its 40th anniversary with a heartfelt tribute to one of India’s most iconic achievements—the space journey of Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian in space. In 1984, Sharma’s historic mission aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz T-11 included his memorable declaration, “Saare Jahaan Se Achha,” a phrase that captured India’s unity and spirit.
To celebrate this historic milestone, Titan launched the ‘Unity Watch,’ a limited-edition timepiece inspired by the view of Earth from space that Sharma experienced. The watch draws on his vision of a unified world, symbolising limitless possibilities and the shared dreams of humanity. This stunning timepiece, which comes in a limited run of just 300 pieces, features a celestial design and a midnight blue dial depicting India as seen from space. It celebrates the theme of unity, both in space exploration and the art of watchmaking.
At a special ceremony held in Bengaluru, Wing Commander Sharma was presented with the first Unity Watch. During the event, he shared stories from his space journey, reflecting on the profound perspective he gained from seeing Earth as a unified, borderless entity. Titan’s design team also highlighted the intricate craftsmanship behind the watch, drawing parallels between space exploration and the precision required in watchmaking.

The Unity Watch features a striking midnight blue dial with the map of India, complemented by the Indian tricolour on the hour markers and a rocket-shaped second hand, symbolising Sharma’s historic space journey. The back of the watch bears his iconic words, “Saare Jahan Se Achha,” marking a timeless tribute to India’s achievements.
The Unity Watch is available for purchase at select Titan stores and online, offering enthusiasts the chance to own a piece of this historic legacy.
