Truemeds, a substitution-focused e-pharmacy platform in India, has partnered with actor Paresh Rawal to build awareness around affordable substitute medicines, particularly for patients managing chronic conditions.
The collaboration centres on a campaign aimed at informing consumers about the availability of lower-cost branded substitute medicines that can help reduce recurring healthcare expenses. According to the company, the platform allows individuals and families to access commonly prescribed medicines at lower prices through verified substitutes.

Rawal, known for his long-standing presence in Indian cinema and television, has been associated with characters that resonate with everyday households. Through the partnership, he appears in campaign films designed to communicate the financial pressures associated with long-term medical treatment and the availability of cost-effective alternatives.
The campaign includes two brand films built around everyday situations related to medicine expenses. The first film highlights the challenge of rising medical costs through the story of a father who postpones his own treatment while prioritising his daughter’s needs, reflecting the financial compromises often made by families managing chronic health conditions.
The second film focuses on everyday spending habits, contrasting how individuals often look for savings in daily purchases while assuming medicine prices are fixed. The narrative introduces branded substitute medicines as an option that can help reduce monthly medicine costs.
According to Truemeds, substitute medicines sourced from selected pharmaceutical manufacturers can help lower medicine expenses by up to 51% for individuals undergoing long-term treatment.

“For many families, medicine costs quietly become a monthly stress- often forcing people to delay or skip their own treatment to manage household needs. That reality is what Truemeds is built for. Paresh Rawal represents the trust and relatability we want people to feel when they choose us. Through Truemeds, we want individuals and families to know that quality medicines can come at the lowest prices, and that choosing smart substitute options can make long-term care more manageable without compromise,” said Akshat Nayyar, Co-founder & CEO, Truemeds.
“For most families, medicine expenses add up month after month, especially when someone needs long-term treatment. If there are reliable options that cost less and don’t compromise on quality, people deserve to know about them. That’s what I liked about Truemeds- it helps families manage healthcare without constant financial worry,” said Paresh Rawal, Brand Face, Truemeds.
The platform allows users to upload prescriptions or search for medicines online, after which trained health advisors or doctors suggest scientifically matched substitute medicines and provide guidance on available options.
Truemeds operates across India and focuses on addressing medicine affordability, which continues to be one of the largest out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for households in the country. The partnership with Rawal forms part of the company’s broader efforts to promote awareness around cost-effective medicine alternatives.
