In a groundbreaking partnership aimed at tackling lifestyle-related health issues like heart disease and diabetes, TV Today has teamed up with Samsung to launch the World’s Healthiest Newsroom initiative. The campaign, driven by the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7, encourages news anchors and reporters to prioritise their health and wellbeing in high-stress environments.
In a newsroom where fast-paced, high-pressure debates and constant deadlines are the norm, TV Today sought a solution to help its team manage the physical and mental toll of their demanding jobs. By integrating the Galaxy Watch Ultra into their daily routines, anchors and reporters can now proactively monitor vital health metrics such as heart rate, blood pressure, and sleep quality.
Personalised Health Support
The Galaxy Watch Ultra features AI-powered health tools designed to optimise wellness, including a personalised running coach, continuous heart health monitoring, on-demand ECG and blood pressure readings, and a Sleep Coach to improve rest quality. Additionally, the watch tracks an energy score to help plan the day ahead, alongside a diet-focused AGEs Index to encourage healthier eating.
To showcase the effectiveness of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, prominent news anchors Rahul Kanwal and Sweta Singh wore the devices during a high-profile primetime debate. The duo, known for their commanding presence on both India Today and Aaj Tak, embraced the challenge of improving their health by monitoring their wellbeing in real-time.
Measuring Health Under Pressure
During the intense debate, which featured fast-paced discussions and multiple speakers, both anchors took a brief moment to measure their blood pressure on air, demonstrating how easily the device can track vital health signs during stressful situations.
"Behind the calm presence of our anchors lies the pressure of managing live debates in a high-stress newsroom," said Vikash Chemjong, CCO of Cheil India. "The Galaxy Watch Ultra played a pivotal role in ensuring our anchors could monitor their health with ease and confidence, even in the most intense moments."
Certified by the CDSCO, the Galaxy Watch Ultra offers accurate, real-time blood pressure measurements and heart health monitoring directly from the wrist. It also features life-saving alerts for irregular heart rhythms (IHRN), further enhancing its role in supporting the wellbeing of those in the media industry.
Maximising Reach of the Campaign
The #WatchOverYourHealth campaign was further amplified through strategic placements on TV Today network’s programming, including Lodestar's use of L bands and Ashton bands. These efforts ensured maximum visibility across the network, with news anchors, reporters, and even the AI anchor Sana promoting the health initiative.
This collaboration between Samsung, TV Today, and Cheil India marks an important step towards better health management in the newsroom, helping news professionals stay at their best even under pressure.
