Ugaoo, a houseplant and urban gardening company based in India, has launched a new campaign titled “Talk Less. Plant More.” to mark World Environment Day 2025. The initiative aims to encourage urban Indians to address climate anxiety by taking small, practical actions—starting with planting at home.
The campaign targets individuals who are aware of climate issues but feel uncertain about how to respond. Ugaoo’s message is to begin with manageable steps, such as growing and caring for a single plant.
“We’re not just selling plants, we’re sowing purpose. We’ve seen how environmental anxiety is real, especially among younger people. ‘Talk Less. Plant More.’ is our way of cementing one’s love for nature and saying: start small, start now, and grow from there. One plant can be the first step toward a more hopeful, resilient future,” said Siddhant Bhalinge, Founder and CEO of Ugaoo.
The campaign encourages individuals to reduce climate-related stress by shifting focus from discussion to action. It is designed to promote everyday participation and foster a sense of contribution among people through digital content and engagement.
At the centre of the campaign is the idea that small, personal actions can contribute to wider environmental awareness. Ugaoo states that the objective is to promote micro actions, reduce psychological barriers, and build engagement through storytelling.
“Urban Indians don’t just need more plants, they need hope, grounding, and a sense of contribution,” Bhalinge added. “We believe planting is the new protest. A protest against inaction, against despair.”
Ugaoo, which has delivered over a million plants across India, positions this campaign as an extension of its role in promoting urban gardening. The company calls on people to take a practical step—buy a plant, gift a plant, or commit to caring for one.
